OCTOBER DREAMS - A Celebration of Halloween

This 2002 anthology not only features Halloween inspired short stories by such masters of horror as Ray Bradbury, Poppy Z. Brite, Peter Straub and Caitlin R. Kiernan, it also features each author's favorite or most influential memory of their own personal Halloween's gone by.

This is a must-have item for Halloween worshippers. It's out of print and used copies tend to be a bit on the pricey side, but amazon offers a free "Look Inside" this fabulous book.

Personal favorite story: "A Redress for Andromeda" by Caitlin R. Kiernan, in which Halloween in a Jack-O-Lantern lit seaside home turns into a hideous Lovecraftian ritual for an innocent girl.

  1. I'm a fan of that book as well. I wish I'd found the first volume when it came out. Talk about expensive on the secondary market...
