Remember these? Fortune telling machines with animatronic figures inside of mysterious Gypsies, Swamis, or Wizards? We know these purveyors of destiny are just robots, lifeless mannequins. . . aren't they? Why does it seem that they are smirking at you? Did those eyes just move?

I've posted my favorite fortune teller machines from the past.
I understand they've moved the machines to Fisherman's Wharf. There was nothing like the funky, atmospheric old Cliff House basement!
There is a small Victorian town, Echuca, which has a heritage listed fun fair (and paddle steamers!!). Complete with a cool fortune telling machine! This makes me think I should visit Echuca again... :)
